At the turn of the twentieth century Le Vieux Café was the hub of village life for Lairoux as it used to be the local restaurant and café. It has undergone many changes over the years and is now laid out as a comfortable three-bedroom holiday home - perfect for family holidays.
The house contains many of its original exposed stone walls and wooden beams, along with all modern home comforts.
The views from the bedrooms are fantastic - panoramic views over the garden and towards the Wetland valley in the distance.
Le Vieux Café works well with family gatherings or with three generations holidaying together. The bedrooms are flexible and we can add an extra single bed in one of the twin bedrooms, or make two singles into a double bed for grand parents!

Outside there is a private seating area for up to 8 guests with a BBQ and pergola with retractable cover - perfect for relaxing after a long day of lying by the pool!
In the living room you will find a TV with UK and French satellite TV channels, a DVD player, a CD/radio player with USB connections for MP3 players. There is also a laptop with free secure Wi-Fi Internet access. In 2016 we replaced the sofa and armchairs with two new three-seater leather sofas.
The living room comfortably seats 8 guests, and the sofa converts into a double bed for extra sleeping facilities.
The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, microwave & conventional oven, along with plenty of crockery & cutlery for everyone - there is also a range of plastic plates, beakers, cutlery and bowls for younger guests. The dining table can extend to seat 8/10 guests.
Leading from the kitchen is a ground floor shower room with shower, hand basin and WC. A high chair and booster seat are available for young children.
Upstairs, there are three bedrooms. The large master bedroom (30m²) has a double bed, a single bed, large wardrobe, chest of drawers and views across to the village church. A cot is also provided in this room for younger children.
The other two bedrooms each have two single beds - one room can be made into double bed if needed, and a third single bed can be placed in the other twin room if required.
The stairs have gates at both top and bottom for the security of your children. All bedrooms have double glazing and functioning shutters to keep the bedrooms dark so that you can sleep in longer during summer.
Bed linen, hand, bath and tea towels are included in with the rental price, but please bring your own pool and beach towels.
There is a second shower room on the first floor with a double shower cubicle, hand basin with storage cupboard and separate toilet.
The house has radiators for the winter months and the heating costs are included in with the rental price.
You are welcome to bring your pet dog with you for your holiday, but we ask that you do not allow them in the bedrooms. There is a stair gate at the bottom of the stairs to stop them going upstairs and a cosy alcove under the stairs to put a dog bed for your dog to sleep. We have a selection of toys for your dog - balls, knotted rope, thrower. please be aware that we have cats here that love to torment visiting dogs!
